Game 1 starter Adam Wainwright will be joined by fellow starters John Lackey, Lance Lynn, and Shelby Miller. The bullpen is comprised of closer Trevor Rosenthal, Randy Choate, Sam Freeman, Marco Gonzales, Seth Maness, Carlos Martinez, Pat Neshek and Michael Wacha. The 23-year-old Wacha will pitch out of the pen even though he earned NLCS MVP honors last season, helping the Cardinals to the World Series. He had trouble with a lingering shoulder injury throughout this year and pitched just 16 2/3 innings over four September starts.
